Women’s Self-Defense Seminar

Instructor: Jason Calabrese

  • Experience:

    • Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Instructor with over a decade of Martial Arts experience

    • Former Defensive Tactics Instructor for Law Enforcement

 

Overview: This seminar-style women's self-defense course focuses on practical techniques. Participants will learn self-defense moves and then practice them in a controlled, slow-paced environment. There will be no sparring or competitive drills.

To foster a safe and supportive learning environment for women, male spectators will not be permitted.

Preparation Checklist

1. Registration and Payment

  • Confirm Registration: Ensure you are registered for the seminar.

  • Payment: Payment is CASH ONLY. Please bring exact change as payment will be collected at the door before entering

 

2. Essential Documents and Information

  • ID/Proof of Age: Bring a form of ID to verify your age if needed.

  • Liability Form: A printed or digital copy of your registration confirmation.

 

3. Attire and Gear

  • Clothing:  Please wear athletic attire. Loose clothing is not recommended.

  • Footwear: Footwear not required. NO FOOTWEAR ON THE MATS.

  • Water Bottle: Bring a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated.

  • Towel: A small towel to wipe off sweat.

 

4. Personal Care Items

  • Skin care: Please cover any open cuts before arriving at the seminar.

  • Personal Hygiene Products: Bring any necessary personal hygiene items.

 

5. Rules and Etiquette

  • Arrival Time: Arrive at least 15 minutes early to check in and get settled.

  • Safety: Participate in drills and exercises safely. Inform the instructor of any physical limitations or injuries before starting.

  • Mobile Phones: Keep your phone on silent or vibrate mode to avoid distractions.

 

6. Post-Seminar

  • Mat time: An optional one-hour open mat session will be offered for those wanting extra practice or instruction.
